Fancy a trail challenge in the stunning North Leeds area? With two options to choose from, a 23k and a 50k route, what are you waiting for?
Terrain: Public Footpaths – Trail
Elevation:950m / 550m
These challenging 50k and 23k courses will take place along the trails within Leeds. Great Owl Running have designed their events to bring a community of like-minded people together, to share in what they love to do, run.
There will be plenty of climbs in both routes but see below at what points the most challenging climbs will come so you can prepare best on how to approach the course.
The course will be marked with time, but it is ultimately the responsibility of the runners to navigate the course successfully. It is recommended by the event organiser to take the time to recce the route before race day.
The biggest climb of this 50k route will come in the second half of the race, at around the 35k mark.
There will be 5 checkpoints on the route for the 50k course.
The relay race will follow the exact same course as the 50k route, but divided into 4 legs:
- Leg One:14k Eccup to Thorner
- Leg Two:14k Thorner to Eccup
- Leg Three:10k Eccup to Chevin
- Leg Four:13k The Chevin to Eccup
This course will begin with a steady increasing incline, up until the halfway point. At around the 13k mark, there will be a sweeping descent, immediately followed by a steep incline climb.
There will be 2 checkpoints on the route for the 23k course.
