Description

Starting in the heart of Leeds City Centre and ending in Malham, this is not a challenge for the fainthearted, with a choice of two ultra distances, 50 or 100 miles.

The route follow the path of the River Aire from city centre Leeds to its source at Malham Tarn – the highest marl lake in the United Kingdom. As the urban landscapes subside, the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales opens up for runners as they pass through the historic market town of Skipton, the Victorian workers’ village of Saltaire and the picturesque village of Gargrave where it links with the Pennine Way. Not enough? Runners can start the previous evening at Malham and run towards Leeds before joining the 50m race the next morning.
