Virtual London Marathon 26.2 miles
2 October 2022
We ran together in 2021!
The virtual 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon took place on Sunday 3 October. It was amazing to see up to 24,000 people take part from more than 100 countries, from Argentina to Zimbabwe. Thanks to each and everyone of you who helped make the day so special.
Participants had a full 24 hours to complete their 26.2 miles and received bib numbers before the event (with the opportunity to download them to print off to wear on Marathon Day if they did not receive them in time).
Finisher’s medals and New Balance finishers T-shirt are now being posted to participants.
The Virtual TCS London Marathon is back for 2022, giving you the chance to take on your 26.2 miles from wherever you live in the world!
There are a number of charity places still available.
The marathon app will provide you with support and mile markers to help you through the challenge.
You just need to make sure you complete the distance on the 2nd of October and make sure you record the evidence. But you are free to start your marathon at a time that suits you, at a location of your choice.
For Leeds residents we can recommend the Leeds-Liverpool canal from Leeds to Skipton. You can cover the 26.2 distance on a fairly flat route, with a good trainline to the start or finish depending on which starting point you choose.
Look out for this route being added to the Run Leeds website soon, with facilities and distances.
