Gledhow Valley Woods
Starting off on the end of Mexborough Avenue this run traverses up through the busy shop thronged streets of Chapeltown onto the market square of Chapel Allerton. You will climb around 60 metres in elevation up through Harrogate Road in the first part of the run which makes it a testing start, be patient as this will balance out in the second half of the run!
With Gledhow Valley allotments on your right you will turn off Harrogate Road and head down Gledhow Valley Road. At this point the gradient drops down nicely and you will come to a little trail that breaks off the main road into the tundra of Gledhow Valley Woods. You will follow this trail parallel before rejoining Gledhow Valley Road. Keep running down until you come to Harehills Avenue on your right – follow this road until you meet Potternewton Park and Chapeltown Road!
Gledhow Valley Woods is a ribbon of woodland and grassland running about 1.5km through a suburban area of north Leeds.
