Bramley Run Group Readies for Launch Day

Ben Fraser

The Run Leeds project is teaming up with resident runners in Bramley to launch a new mid-week social running group – the ‘Bramley Breezers’. Local runners leading on the formation have been instrumental in laying the foundations of the group – notably, a first for the district in West Leeds.

The inaugural session commencing on Monday 24th August will begin with a ‘freedom parkrun’ of Bramley Park as recognition of the already thriving local event. Since Bramley parkrun launched on 14th June the paths have seen more than 700 runners stomping their way around the 5k course. A side effect of this mini running revolution, spurred on by the weekly event, is the connections made between likeminded folk, certainly a springboard for the group inception.

It is advised that you turn up a little earlier than the 7pm start time to register with the group. The Breezers will be welcoming runners of all abilities; new, improving or advanced. It will be the job of the run leaders to ensure everyone’s running needs and abilities are worked towards.
