Nominations For The Yorkshire & Humber Run England Group Of The Year Award Are OPEN

Ben Fraser

Every summer England Athletics open up the floor to ask you who you believe the unsung heroes of running and athletics in your community are! The Yorkshire and Humber region are poised to celebrate a series of well-deserved accolades including the Run England group of the year award.

Run England groups you feel deserve a nomination should be able to demonstrate elements or all of the following criteria outlined by England Athletics:

  • Bringing new runners into the sport (running) at a local level.
  • Engage a broad range of participants in their community.
  • Create community partnerships with a wide range of partners.
  • Work to actively engage underrepresented groups including women, people with disabilities and ethnic minorities.

Last year’s winners were the Run England group ‘Strideout’ from Sheffield.  Having setup multiple sessions, on various days, for a variety of ages, the group had made it their mission to paint the steely city in a sea of purple!

The deadline for this year’s nomination is the 31st July
