#runandtalk with the Hyde Park Harriers

Ben Fraser

#runandtalk is an exciting new social running group in Leeds City Centre. Our first session will take place on Tuesday 7th March at 7pm from the Edge, University of Leeds. #runandtalk is supported by two run leaders – Caroline and Sam who are from a local running club, Hyde Park Harriers.

The idea behind #runandtalk campaign is simple, we want to encourage as many people to come out with us and run, whether you are new to exercise, a seasoned runner or would just like to meet like-minded people. We see the positive link between exercising and socialising and physical and mental health and would like to promote this as far as possible. Plus we’re a really friendly bunch of people who want to use a sport we enjoy to provide a supportive environment for as many people as possible.

The sessions will take place on the first Tuesday of every month with the possibility of extra sessions – especially when the weather improves! We have a really flexible session, we will do a short run at a level for the whole group to take part then we will go to a local coffee shop for refreshments and a chat! The sessions can be really adaptable dependent on what the group would like to do, whether it’s running in a new location or trying different running related activities, such as strength and stretching sessions.

We welcome all abilities to come and join in with us, you do not have to have run before – you just need yourself and your enthusiasm!

Our group is free to join, although you may wish to bring some money for refreshments.

We hope to see you soon, if you have any questions or would like to let us know you’re coming, please email hydeparkharriers@runleeds.co.uk
