Want to GO TRI something different?

Rich Sadler

This May sees the long anticipated return of GO TRI events in Leeds! Building on the success of the city hosting the World Triathlon Series in 2016, the GO TRI project provides a fun and safe environment for beginners to get into triathlon.

We’re looking for people to get involved – whether you’d like to don your trainers and take part or whether you’d rather lend a hand and volunteer. The great thing about the GO TRI events is that you don’t need to be an expert on triathlon to do either.

Maybe you already run or cycle to work and want to get into swimming; perhaps you volunteer at a parkrun and are looking for other ways to support people to become active; it could be that you’ve been inspired by the feats of Leeds’ own Brownlee boys or maybe it’s that you’ve just turned 40 and you fancy challenging yourself to something new!

Whatever your motivation or interest is – there’s something for everyone and we’d love it if you got involved!

The Details…

There are three GO TRI events scheduled for May.

  • GO TRI Middleton Park Duathlon 1 – Saturday 13th May, 12 – 2pm
  • GO TRI Fearnville 1 – Thursday 18th May, 6 – 8pm
  • GO TRI Rothwell 1 – Saturday 27th May, 10am – 12pm

Each event will feature an adult race (15+) and a junior race (10-14). The Middleton Park event will also include our very first Leeds Girls Can women-only duathlon. To sign up and for more information click here.

If you’d prefer to volunteer then there are loads of different ways that you can help. We’re looking for race marshals (run and bike routes), transition marshals, event timekeeper and event registration desk helpers to make sure the event runs smoothly.
