Routes

Breary

LS16 8LZ

Distance: 9.22km

Description

The run circumnavigates Golden Acre Park in north Leeds; the loop is just short of six miles but you can run to it from Moortown, Meanwood, Adel, Alwoodley, Headingley, Holt Park, Cookridge or Bramhope and make it a part of your own route.

There are variations at:

1. Golden Acre Park – run where you want to, add loops and pick any route you like to Breary.

2. Breary can be approached from A660 and the path alongside Parklands Hotel. Also you can come off the A660 just south of the hotel and follow the footpaths through the farm and join at Paul’s Pond (but you miss much of the Breary reserve which is nice).

3. From the filed just below the New Inn and the dirt/gravel track you can run the loop of the fields north of Eccup and into the Harewood Estate.

4. From Eccup Moor Road you can circuit Eccup Reservoir, or beak across the fields and cross King Lane further south and approach Golden Acre or Breary from Adel.
