    Hi!

Rob Wilson brought Leeds Frontrunners to my attention.

I’m a keen runner, completed 2 half marathons, and religiously attend the Parkrun. Got my PB time this morning of 24 mins 33 secs (3 miles).

I’d like to come along to your group, is there a joining procedure?

      Hi Aajay,

Just turn up on a Saturday morning for 9am in Roundhay by the Fox. Sometimes the group do a canal run one Saturday a month. It would be best to join the ‘Leeds Frontrunners’ public group on Facebook to get involved in the conversations and keep fully up to date! Thanks for leaving a post 🙂

    Hi there
We’re currently in the process of re-designing the Yorkshire MESMAC website and as a part of this, we’re going through all of the content to make sure that we are providing the most up to date information. As you have a section on our group information pages, I’d just like to check if the information below is up to date. Also, please do let me know if you’d like us to add anything or if you’d like anything to be re-worded.

    “Leeds Frontrunners

Frontrunners is a UK-wide LGBT+ inclusive running network, with lots of regional groups. The Leeds group is one of the newer groups.

They have a weekly run, but also members are encouraged to share arrangements for ad-hoc runs that others can join them for. All levels of fitness & ability are welcome along, as circuits can often be walked/jogged at the individuals own pace. The group also regularly band together for charity runs and marathons.

Check out their website: https://runleeds.co.uk/running-group/leeds-frontrunners/ and join the group on Facebook: Leeds Frontrunners.”

    Many thanks
    Jess

Hi there, I have been so moved by watching Ben Smith in the London Marathon
    http://www.the401challenge.co.uk
I wanted to enquire whether your club are supporting him? Whether running with him, supporting him or better yet making donations (Stonewall and Kidscape).
It is likely that we have all gone through some sort of bullying relating to who we are ?
    Thanks.

Hi Lenka, you can join the group for a run every Saturday at 9am outside of the Lakeside Cafe in Roundhay park (check the group details) – look for the yellow and blue t-shirts near the entrance! Also, find the Leeds Frontrunners on Facebook (there is a public group to join)

    Hi Ben,
Would you be able to change our meeting point from Roundhay Fox to The Lakeside Cafe in Roundhay Park?
    Thanks.

    Hi
How do I join the running group? What’s the level of ability expected in terms of speed?

    • Ben Fraser

      October 20, 2016 at 11:03 am

Hi Will, there is a wide range of abilities at the group – from beginner to more advanced. If you turn up and meet the group outside of the Cafe before 9am, someone will be on hand to advise you on taking part in the session. Have a good run.

Hi – I am putting together the GFR race calendar for 2017 and would like to include all the UK and Ireland Frontrunner club races. I know you guys did a park run takeover last year. Are you planning to do the same this year and if so do you have a date in mind?

Our own 2017 edition of OUTrun will be on the 19th August.

    All the best,

    Eamonn

Hi I’ve just seen an advertisement about the couch to 5k that’s starting in a couple of weeks. Could I get some more details about the cost etc… Also I’m totally new to running and with Asthma, do you think this is a great way to improve my lung capacity.

    • Ben Fraser

      June 5, 2017 at 1:44 pm

Hi Carla, the course is £15 in total and lasts 6 weeks. Many participants with Asthma manage to successfully run and train themselves up – we always advise to check with your doctor first (if you are unsure about the amount of physical activity you can do) and come to the sessions with your inhaler. As this is a beginner course you will be supported from a low to medium level intensity of physical activity which is suitable for someone that has never run or hasn’t run for a long period. Contact the Frontrunners for further information or to book your place on leedsfrontrunners@runleeds.co.uk

Do you still have the Couch to 5K run group? Its only because I have never ever done any running ever. So dont think I could join regular groups.

    • Ben Fraser

      July 28, 2017 at 12:01 pm

Hi Nevine. The most recent Leeds Frontrunners Couch to 5k group started last Saturday at Roundhay Park. If you turn up this Saturday before 9am and introduce yourself to one of the run leaders outside the Lakeside Cafe you will be able to join the programme.
