      Hi Sara,

Yes of course you can. If you find a leader called Ewan (one with the clipboard) and let him know your attending your first session and he will let you know everything you need to!

Hi Wayne, the South Leeds Lakers split themselves into around 3 groups to cater for all abilities ranging from improvers (gentle 3k) to advanced runners (10k). The group also have a couch 2 5k group starting soon for any absolute beginners wanting to take their first steps running. Get down on a Tuesday and check out the group Wayne!

    Hi there,
I started running a few weeks ago by doing park runs and I am really enjoying it and want to start running during the week too, can I just turn up on the night to run with you guys? also how much is it? and I will be driving to you so is there any parking?
    Many Thanks

Hi Emma! Running with the Lakers as a social member is free so just turn up around 6:50pm and one of the run leaders will fill in a simple signup form. There is parking in the Coop or on-road parking off Old Lane. Enjoy your first session and let us know how you get on…

Hi, just wanted to make sure your members were aware of the Baildon Boundary Way Half Marathon that takes place on 2 April 2017. We are nearly at 80% capacity so don’t miss out! Links to the online entry system can be found on the Boundary Way page of our website, http://www.baildonrunners.co.uk. Invitations to local clubs were emailed out some time ago but we do not seem to have an address for your club in our database. If you send an email reply, I can add yours for the future.

Hi I signed up to do the Leeds 10K preferably to run it (there is an option to walk). I’m a complete beginner who hasn’t run since school which was many years ago. Thinking of joining a running club but as I’m a beginner I’m finding the thought of it daunting. My fear is that I will find it too hard and won’t be able to keep up. I need a beginner group that will build it up gradually. Just need some advice and reassurance. Many thanks 🙂

Hi Sandra. I’ve forwarded your message on to two run leaders at the Lakers that will be able to answer your query. Expect an email from either Ian or Mike. Many Thanks.

I have been club running for the last five years. I was getting quite good before being injured the last two years nearly and moving around a bit. I have just moved to Leeds as a mature student I am missing my club back home. Though the University has there own club and everyone is friendly I do find it difficult being a lot older especially as I am just starting to run again following injury. I have read a bit up about your club and where you are based and how you are structured seems to fit what I need at the moment. I was wondering if you would mind me joining you at somepoint. I would ideally like to get back to the standard that I was a few years ago but realise that this will take a lot of confidence building and re training.

I currently run with St Theresa’s but was hoping to be able to join a club closer to home as I live in Leeds 10.
I have been carrying an injury and haven’t done any running since the Yorkshire marathon so was hoping to find a friendly slow paced group to start building up my confidence again. Can you tell me if I would be able to come along or do I have to cancel my membership at St Theresa’s first ? Also as I have been unable to run, I’m not sure of the distance i would be able to cover on my first couple of attempts, what is the shortest route you do on a tuesday or thursday ?

    Thanks in advance 🙂

      Hi Karen

Im sure that shouldn’t be an issue, if you get in touch with the group directly, using the contact details. They will be able to advise you on routes/distances on the which days etc. Thanks, Nick.

    Dear Ben

I know ascertaining the location is a valued part of the milieu, but what’s the venue please for your Club’s round of the WYWL on Sunday?

Only saw 2 other runners at Queensbury last month, cancellation notification not having reached one’s teleprinter.
    Best wishes

    Hi there

I’ve been to your running group a few times and am thinking of coming again this month with a view to being a regular. My husband is new to running and has just started, I’m aware you do a couch to 5k and wondered if your doing this in Jan 19 and if so, how do people get involved?
